Purpose The purpose of this position is to assist KPA leadership with the planning and execution of special events.
Summary The Event Planner is responsible for planning and assisting with a designated number of special events at KPA. For some events, the Event Planner leads the planning and execution of the event (e.g., New Family Dinner, Quarterly Teacher Luncheons, Fall Festival, Thanksgiving Feast, Staff Christmas Party, and Grandparents’ Day). For other events, the Event Planner assists in playing an auxiliary role for events that are primarily planned and led by other KPA Staff (e.g., Teacher training week, Back-to-School Night, and KPA Graduation). Every event will involve coordinating and carrying out plans with other KPA Staff and volunteers. Because of the unique and specific nature of each event, more information is provided in a separate document. In sum, the Event Planner’s role is to create beautiful, hospitable, and overall excellent events to serve the KPA community.
Supervision Received and Exercised The Event Planner reports directly to KPA’s Headmaster. This individual must exercise judgment that aligns with KPA’s culture, philosophy, education, beliefs, and values. The Event Planner will exercise functional supervision over parents in their service roles. Work Schedule This is a part-time position with variable hours, depending on what events are taking place. This position will be compensated at an hourly rate. As an hourly employee that works on an “as needed” basis, this position includes no benefits or PTO.

Hearing: ability to perceive sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction

Occasional lifting of 5 to 20 pounds
